Kavan Brissett, aged 21, was knifed in his heart on the Grammar Street car park, Upperthorpe, in August 2018.
He died in hospital four days later.
Last month marked the second anniversary of the murder and although four men are accused of conspiracy to commit robbery on the night of the killing, nobody has yet been charged over the death.
Detectives and Kavan’s family used the anniversary to urge those with information to come forward and some calls were received by the police but nobody has yet been charged with murder.
In their anniversary statement, Kavan’s family said: “We really hoped that he would have the justice he deserves by now, but unfortunately that is not the case.”
Detectives are keen to trace 31-year-old Ahmed Farrah, who is believed to hold vital information about the stabbing.
Farrah, also known as Reggie, was treated for facial injuries at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital on the same night that Kavan was stabbed.
He was seen in Cardiff the month after the stabbing but then went to ground and is said to be deliberately evading arrest.
His passport has never been recovered by officers searching for him.
Farrah’s friends, relatives and acquaintances have all been served with harbouring notices warning that they face prosecution if they are found to be shielding him.
A £5,000 Crimestoppers reward for information leading to his arrest is still on offer.
Anyone with information about the murder should call South Yorkshire Police.
