Sheffield Crown Court heard today, December 3, how Martyn Johnson, aged 35, of Croftfield Lane, Doncaster, accused his partner of having an affair before he assaulted her and drove to her mother’s home and threatened to punch her.
Amy Earnshaw, prosecuting, said Johnson pulled his partner’s hair, punched and kicked her and threw things at her and pulled her back into their house.

Johnson went to the home of his partner’s mother after his partner had texted her to call the police, according to Mrs Earnshaw.
Mrs Earnshaw said Johnson drew back his arm as if to punch his partner’s mother and told her he would smash her face.
Johnson, who has previous convictions, pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm against his partner and to a common assault against his partner’s mother on the basis of a threat following the offences in September.

He added: “There is clearly another side to him and he does help people in the community and he can be a productive man.”
