BREAKING: Sheffield Wednesday close to signing Watford star Almen Abdi
The Star understands the Owls have agreed a fee for the Albanian-born player, who is expected to have a medical with the Championship club tonight.
The Swiss international, who initially moved to Vicarage Road in 2012 on an season-long loan deal from Italian club Udinese, is believed to have returned to England early from the Hornets' training camp in Austria, having not featured in Saturday's goalless draw against Anzhi.

Hide AdAbdi was a regular in Watford's side last season, making 38 appearances for the Hornets as they secured a mid-table finish in the Premier League. Twenty five of his outings came as a starter but he has featured in only two of Watford's warm-up matches under new head coach Walter Mazzarri.
Should the deal go through, Abdi will link up with his former Watford teammate Fernando Forestieri.
The Owls, who have returned from their five day warm-weather training camp in Portugal today, have so far signed goalkeeper Jake Kean and striker Steven Fletcher.
