BREAKING NEWS: Packed Pakistan jumbo jet from New York diverted over Peak District after mid-air emergency
The Boeing 777 Pakistan International Airlines flight "squawked" an emergency code as it flew over the North Sea off the coast of Eastern Scotland.
Flight PK722 from the US to Lahore took off from New York's JFK Airport this morning at 9.41pm and was diverted across Northern England and Yorkshire after the emergency was declared.

Hide AdThe 329-seater aircraft turned sharply south off the coast of Scotland near Peterhead before dropping in altitude as it flew over Newcastle.
It is not clear where the aircraft is headed to make its landing as the airliner has passed both Newcastle and Leeds Bradford airports but now appears to be en route to Manchester.
