Boredom busting activities in South Yorkshire during half term
There are dozens of boredom-busting events happening across South Yorkshire and The Star has compiled a list of some of the best activities for this handy half term holiday guide.
Saturday, February 6
Activity Sheffield kicks things off with a family fun in the park event at Devonshire Green, near Sheffield city centre, from 11am to 3pm.

Hide AdEvents to take part in will include a nine-metre climbing tower, football, cricket, dodgeball, a giant crazy golf, mini farm with live animals and circus skills.
Monday, February 8
Crystal Peaks Shopping Centre gets the week off to a flying start with a kite-making session from 11am to 3pm. For further information call 07776 180911.
Bubbles are in the air at Magna Science Adventure Centre, Rotherham, with a bubbles workshop on offer every day during half term, where children can make different shaped bubble films and stand in their own bubble. Manor After School Kids Club is delivering a week of activities, starting with fruit tree planting at 1pm, at York House, City Road, and a kids club from 3.30pm at Darnall Library.

Energetic activities galore are on hand at Activity Camp Unleashed, at Ecclesfield School’s sports hall from 10am to 3pm. Coaching, games, relays and challenges in a variety of sports which may include basketball, badminton and football will be held. Admission £5.
There’s a second family fun in the park event from Activity Sheffield at High Hazels Park, Darnall, on Tuesday from 10am to 4pm.
Wednesday, February 10
Rotherham Music is offering various one day beginners’ courses. A pop choir will take place on Wednesday from 9.30am to 3pm. The course is open to absolute beginners, including children who haven’t sung in a choir before. The fee for the course is £10. Activities for players will include playing as part of a flute choir, rehearsing with RMS staff and taking part in master classes, performing solo repertoire, and trying the piccolo and alto flute.
