Barnsley sign promising winger after successful trial at Oakwell
Walsh, 17, was on trial at Oakwell last season and was a regular for the club’s Under-23s side who play in the Professional Development League.
He joins fellownew arrivals Jordan Barnett, Tai-Reece Chisholm and Elvis Otim, all of whom are expected to feature for Martin Devaney’s Under-23 team.

“I’m still 17, but I truly believe in my ability and journey.”
“I’m pleased to finally get it [the deal] all done.
“Coming up from down south has been tough, having to get used to the area and culture – it’s a lot different to where I’m from and what I’m used to.”
Israeli winger Amir Berkovits penned a one-year professional deal on Monday having impressed for the Under-23s team last season, while defender/midfielder Cameron Simpson was rewarded with a one-year pro deal after his first full season in the same team.
Simpson reflected: “I’m delighted to have signed a contract with Barnsley.
“I’ve been here a long time – since I was nine – so it’s good to finally get a professional contract with the club.”
