Barnsley pupil Nathaniel is a multi-sports star
The active 11-year old who attends Shawlands Primary School pupil from Barnsley packs more in to his busy days than most youngsters of his age.
His courage and commitment to sport was celebrated recently at a ceremony hosted by Yorkshire wellbeing organisation Team Activ.

Hide AdThe Team Activ Sports Awards 2016 were set up to honour the great sporting achievements of both children and adults.
Nathaniel, who has cerebral palsy, scooped the Education Commitment Award because of his dedication and enthusiasm for sport.
The sparky youngster has never allowed his condition to hold him back.
He commits to many school sporting activities, regularly taking part in the school running club, football club, cross-country, swimming and orienteering competitions.

Hide AdOutside school, Nathaniel takes part in the Barnsley Junior Park Run, swimming lessons and Scouts.
Furthermore, he goes in to school early twice each week to do extra physiotherapy sessions with his PE teacher of four years, Lisa Hepworth.
Lisa paid tribute to Nathaniel’s determination and courage. She said: “Nathaniel has never missed a PE lesson.
“He always has such a brilliant attitude; he throws himself into everything and never lets anything get in his way!

“We were highly impressed with his passion, drive and determination to participate in sport.
