Appeal to find thieves targeting popular Doncaster park
The plants have been taken from garden in Sandall Park, which volunteers have lovingly created in a boat. The area had been a picturesque addition to the popular Wheatley park, but in recent days flowers have been stolen from it '“ and plants which have been left have been trampled on.
The thefts come just days after volunteers caught a man who had been stealing flowers from a memorial garden within the park. The area had been created in memory of Michael Wakefield, who died while running in the park last year.

'Following the recent spate of plant thefts our volunteers have been on the ball and as a result an offender was captured in the act and in possession of articles for the theft of plants in the memorial garden. Well done Team FoSP. Now, to sort the boat garden.'
Wendy Barclay, another member of FoSP, said: 'We are gutted that our boat garden has been trashed as well, with 19 plants stolen.
'We are all so upset and gutted but we will bounce back from this and they will not win. Please tell us if you see anyone stealing them.'
