Sheffield suburb named one of UK's 'coolest neighbourhoods' - and it's not the one you might expect

Condé Nast Traveller magazine has selected Sharrow Vale as one of the country’s must-see places for people to visit once the coronavirus lockdown ends.
The area, which is popular for its plethora of independent shops and cafés, plus the green spaces on its doorstep, is described in the latest edition as a ‘curious example of how suburbia has become cool’.

Hide AdIt is one of six neighbourhoods featured by Condé Nast, with districts in Birmingham, Leeds, Newcastle, Liverpool and Manchester also making the list.
The feature praises Sharrow Vale’s ‘natural charm and Peak District access’.
It describes Sheffield as being less ‘attention-seeking’ than some ‘larger rivals’, despite having plenty to shout about, and there is a mention for Kelham Island’s ‘urban regeneration story’ and the array of food markets, craft breweries and restaurants it boasts.
