There is a reason canines are known as our best friend – they show loyalty and companionship like no other. And they look really cute. While we are stuck inside during lockdown, many of us are missing our local furry friends who we would usually spot on our way to and from work.
But we can still get our dog fix at home by following adorable pooches in the city, on Instagram. Regular posts of dogs on their daily walks, cuddled up on the sofa and enjoying the sunshine in the garden are guaranteed to help lift our spirits while working from home.
To make it easier for you, we’ve created a list of some of the best dog accounts in Sheffield.
1. Roxy The Rottie
This German Rottweiler often uses Instagram doggy hashtags such as #rottieofinsta and #Sheffieldogs when sharing snaps of what she gets up to. Roxy, who is only one year old, can usually be found exploring parks and searching for sticks, particularly in Tinsley Golf Course, High Hazel Park and Eckington Woods. Photo: Roxy
2. Gypsy and Marmite
The Jack Russell Terrier and Portuguese Podengo pair are both proud rescue dogs who now live in Sheffield. Gypsy and Marmite love going on walks, in their red and pink jackets and exploring the Peak District with their two owners. The petite dynamic duo can usually be found on the move, hunting out their next adventure or taking a nap in the sun. Photo: Submitted
3. Link the Border Collie
As his Instagram username would suggest, this two-year-old Border Collie is known as Link. The teenager inspired his owner to start their own range of dog training products, called Jinks. Link loves to play, whether that’s in a ball pit, in a swimming pool or with his favourite football – he’s an active boy. Photo: Submitted
4. Nya
Nya the blue German Shepherd might have a reputation for chewing up dog beds but she is a sweetheart really. Despite only being one year-old Nya looks a struggle for her owner, Steve to pick up. The German Shepherd can be found using popular tags such as #cutedogsofinstagram and #bluegermanshepherdpuppy. Photo: Submitted
