Happily people can enjoy the benefits of city and countryside by looking for a home in one of the National Park’s towns or villages, which are surrounded by beautiful rural scenery yet within commutable distance of central Sheffield.
Hathersage, Baslow, Bakewell, Grindleford and Hope are some of the familiar spots – but there are numerous lesser-known locations worth considering.

1. Tideswell

2. Edale

3. Ashford in the Water
Ashford in the Water, on the River Wye one-and-a-half miles away from Bakewell, is home to the Grade II-listed Sheepwash Bridge, which was indeed used by farmers who wanted to bathe their flocks. 4. Curbar
