PUBS, cafes, restaurants and tea rooms across the Peak will be organising special treats and offers during the Great Peak District Food Fest Week which begins on Saturday, October 27. The event kicks off with a fair at the Pavilion Gardens, Buxton, that day (and Sunday) with demonstrations by TV chef Rachel Green, Max Fischer of Baslow Hall and James Grant of Rowley's. Baslow. PRESERVES maker Catherine Trickett, the woman behind city-based Catherine's Choice, has won two gold medals in the annual Great Taste Awards. They were for her mango and cardamon and pear and vanilla fruit butters.

STEPHANIE Brown, founder of the Yabba brand of Caribbean foods, is opening a deli on Abbeydale Road, Sheffield, next month. "Yabba Caribbean Delicacies will sell our award winning sauces and preserves, chilled foods and fruit and vegetables," she says.
A REBRANDING for Sheffield United's Bramall Lane restaurant which has had a chequered history since Jamie Bosworth's departure. It is now Stripes at 1889, a family friendly eaterie where kids under 12 eat free with each adult (and get a fun pack to keep them quiet).
