Hide AdProperty prices rose 3.9 percent in Yorkshire and Humber last year, but just 1.2 percent in the South East.
The average house price in Sheffield now stands at £173,141.
In Barnsley, the average property will set you back £129,599, in Rotherham you’re looking at £141,984, and Doncaster £131,520.
A spokesperson for the Office for National Statistics said: "Over the past three years, there has been a general slowdown in UK house price growth (driven mainly by a slowdown in the South and East of England), but there has been a pickup in annual growth since July 2019."
