Sheffield food hall Kommune announces new measure for customers amid coronavirus fears

A statement from Kommune said that the decision was taken in an effort to minimise potential exposure to Covid-19.
The foodhall has also explained a number of other measures that will be taken to ensure that the businesses inside can stay open.

Hide AdThe statement said: “Without compromising on our principles of personality and hospitality, our emphasis is on reducing any unnecessary contact between customers and staff.“With effect from Friday 13th March 2020, Kommune and all traders will be cashless until further notice. Customers are encouraged to pay with card or the Kommune App.
“For now, it is business as usual at Kommune and we look forward to welcoming you through our doors.”
Other precautionary measures that have been implemented include additional staff hygiene training, extra cleaning stations for staff on shift and more time allocated for deep cleans of high-risk areas.

Hide AdCondiments and seasonings have been replaced with sachets and all menus, communal condiments, cutlery on tables and shared water bottles have been removed to limit risk of spread of the disease.
Any staff members who who exhibit symptoms will be encouraged to self-isolate, Kommune has said.
Kommune will retain its usual opening hours.
