Young Sheffield filmmaker to create Covid-19 documentary to show future generations
and live on Freeview channel 276
Josh Burrows, 17, from the Beighton area, started producing the documentary called ‘COVID19: Life in Lockdown’ around two weeks ago and hopes it will show how the country pulled together during unprecedented and challenging times.
A freelance filmmaker, he studied creative media at Hillsborough College and wanted to put his skills to good use by creating something that could be looked back on for years to come.

Hide AdJosh will be filming the entire 45 minute documentary himself around the Beighton and Rother Valley area – areas he can visit during his daily exercise while still adhering to the government’s social distancing rules.
He said: “It’s going to be about the whole lockdown situation which is happening right now. I’m going to talk about the restrictions that are in place and aim to interview some people to get their views on it.
“It’s just basically something for people to look at in the next few years and so they can look back on what happened. I want to speak to anyone really but mainly young people because I think it would be young people who are affected the most.”
Josh is hoping to conduct several interviews either in person – ensuring to keep a distance of at least two metres – or via Skype and will ask how coronavirus has affected their daily life, work, and what their views are on the government’s response to the pandemic.

Hide AdHe hopes it will take around a month to complete and already has a few interviewees confirmed.
“I’ve been affected by the lockdown, I’m normally active and at college or out and about so it’s quite different for me,” Josh added.
The documentary will be available on YouTube once it is finished. To keep up to date with the progress or to volunteer to be interviewed visit Josh’s Instagram page via – www.instagram.com/burr.ows/
