"Similarly to yesterday, seven patients require intensive care and we wish them the very best in their recovery.
“For context, on 16 September we were marking a rise from three patients to eight. In the past month, we have seen a significant increase, the rate of which has been faster than during the first-wave of Covid-19.
“In slightly more positive news, we have safely discharged one person today, while seven patients have recovered from Covid-19 and are no longer testing positive for it, although still require hospital care. We hope they will be home safe soon.

We understand that friends and family will want to see their loved ones during their hospital stay, and we will continue to support virtual visiting and other alternative arrangements.”
Patients who have a clinical appointment, unless instructed otherwise, should still attend.
The statement added: “Colleagues are working hard to ensure the site is safe.
“Can we also once again remind our communities to only use the Emergency Department when it's just that - an emergency - and to make use of alternative services wherever possible and appropriate.
