Frustrated mum slams ‘complacent’ parents as Sheffield primary school closes due to Covid outbreak
Valley Park Primary and Nursery School on Norton Avenue is closed today, following advice from Public Health England, after a number of confirmed cases of Covid-19.
One mum, who asked not to be named, said the school had done everything it could to keep staff and pupils safe since reopening and insisted that other parents must shoulder the blame.

"Too many parents are not wearing masks or keeping their distance from one another. They’re gathering in big groups, walking home and letting their children play together – basically breaking all the rules.
"There was even a fight outside the school between two parents the other day and police had to be called.
"I can’t fault the school. The staff there have been amazing at keeping us informed and following every guideline to keep children safe.

The school wrote to parents yesterday, Thursday, March 18, to inform them of the temporary closure, which they described as a ‘precautionary measure’.
The Star has contacted the school.
