Fifteen more coronavirus deaths reported across South Yorkshire in latest figures

Figures released by NHS England show the deaths were recorded in the 24 hours to 4pm on Monday, including seven in Sheffield.
The deaths took place between 29 December, 2020 to 1 February 2021 with the majority being on or after 27 January with the time taken for positive results to be received among the potential factors in a delay between a death happening and being recorded.

Hide AdNHS England said the patients were aged between 23 to 102 years old. All except 31 (aged 23 to 102 years old) had known underlying health conditions.
The data represents the deaths of hospital patients who had tested positive for Covid-19 in the previous 28 days and whose deaths were recorded in the latest reporting period.
In Sheffield, seven further deaths were recorded, bringing the city's total to 792. Rotherham’s total has remained static at 516.
In Barnsley, five further deaths increased the total to 523, while in Doncaster, three further fatalities were recorded to take the tally to 667.

Hide AdSince April 28 2020, NHS England and NHS Improvement also started to report the number of patient deaths where there has been no Covid-19 positive test result but it is documented as a direct or underlying cause of death in the death certification process.
Nationally, a further 767 people, who tested positive for Covid-19 have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 72,912.
