South Yorkshire will be placed under the ‘very high’ level lockdown measures at 00.01am on Saturday, October 24 – which prevents households from mixing in any indoor setting or in private gardens or most public outdoor venues.
Pubs and bars which don’t serve ‘substantial meals’ will also be forced to close under the Tier 3 restrictions, in an attempt to slow the spread of the virus.

Hide AdThe Harlequin pub near Kelham Island, The Red Deer in the city centre and Two Thirds Beer Co in Nether Edge will serve their last orders at 10pm on Friday – at least until the lockdown restrictions are reviewed next month.
Watering holes including The Brothers Arms and The White Lion in Heeley, The Fox and Duck in Broomhill and Bungalows and Bears on Divison Street will also be closed from Saturday – as many pubs which do offer meals do not make enough income from selling food alone.
In a post on Facebook, The Red Deer said: “With the confirmation of T3, I have made the decision to temporarily close the pub from Saturday.
"It is possible to continue trading under the ‘Substantial food’ condition, however I think the risk to staff and customers health outweighs the trade possibilities.”
