Gripple produced social distancing T-shirts with messages including ‘Tha’s close enough!’ for staff and for sale, raising £2,000 for the NHS.
Workers then came up with protective face shields and screens for staff on the shop floor and offered them to key workers.

Hide AdIt also developed a hands-free door opener, donating 800 to local NHS hospitals. Some were sold to suppliers, with proceeds going to Weston Park Cancer Care.
A British Chamber of Commerce spokesman said: “We have received some fantastic stories from a wide range of companies and Gripple is one of them.
“We are paying tribute to its efforts by giving Gripple our UK Business Heroes stamp which demonstrates that the company has gone the extra mile to support its local community during the Coronavirus outbreak.”
Gripple also received a letter of congratulations from HRH the Countess of Wessex.
