Meadowhall announce strict new rules over eating and drinking for every shopper from Monday April 12
and live on Freeview channel 276
From April 12, non-essential stores such as Next, Zara, H&M and Primark will reopen, as well as the centre’s hairdressers, brow bars and Rock Up climbing experience.
A selection of restaurants and cafes such as McDonalds, Nando’s, Five Guys, Wagamama and YO! Sushi are also offering a takeaway service for shoppers to enjoy at home or in one of two designated outdoor dining areas.

However, customers must be seated while eating and follow all Government guidelines around social distancing.
Some customers were left frustrated in December when they were forbidden from eating and drinking any food inside the shopping centre.
Under Tier 3 restrictions, food could not not be consumed on site and shoppers were told to ‘bear this in mind when purchasing’.

Visitor numbers will be carefully managed to make sure everyone can maintain social distancing. Red and green indicators will be used on store fronts to show if it is safe to enter or not dependent on capacity.
If the centre or any of the stores become particularly busy, visitors may be asked to queue considerately in a designated area outside.
Darren Pearce, Centre Director at Meadowhall said: “We know many of our customers are very excited about the reopening, and we are equally as excited to welcome them back. I think there’s an extra sense of enthusiasm around the lifting of the restrictions this time as we’re all optimistic for a brighter future, and I very much hope that is the case.
