“Theatre goers are in for a treat” – An Agatha Christie classic is set to open in Sheffield next week
The Company, an amateur theatre group with a reputation for high quality theatre worthy of the professional stage, is back at the Sheffield University Drama Studio, and this time with added mystery and intrigue as they take on an Agatha Christie classic, Murder on the Nile.
On board a steamer, cruising under the scorching Egyptian sun, honeymooners Simon Mostyn and his wealthy socialite wife Kay find themselves being pursued by an old flame of the newly wedded groom.

Hide AdThen a tragedy strikes, a body is discovered and all fingers point to Simon’s ex fiancée.
But everything is not what it seems.
Among a cast of characters that includes a shady socialist, a fearsome battle-axe, and a Dr with dubious credentials, holidaying cleric Canon Pennefather is drawn into a web of intrigue and deceit as he finds himself on the trail of a ruthless murderer.
Idyllic surroundings are shattered by a shocking and brutal murder, and under scrutiny is a multitude of memorable passengers, all with a reason to kill.
The tension and claustrophobia builds, as a shocking and audacious conspiracy is laid bare in this brand new amateur take on a classic and mysterious tragedy play.

One of the 13 actor cast, actress Mandy Sims. who plays Miss Ffoliot-Ffoulkes, said: "It has been great fun playing Miss Ffoliot-Ffoulkes - the character made famous by Bette Davis in the iconic 1978 film."
The Company’s last production, Cyrano And Roxanne by Alison Munro, was performed at the Drama Studio last year to fantastic reviews.
This amateur production of Murder on the Nile is presented by special arrangement with Samuel French Ltd a Concord Theatricals Company.
