Stead says the gap in fixtures hasn’t helped the team, with no home meeting on successive Thursdays and a rain-off at Glasgow. Now he’s raring to go for tomorrow’s Premier League clash with Plymouth who will include powerhouse duo Brady Kurtz and Jack Holder. Said Stead: “It’s been a pretty frustrating few weeks, certainly for myself when I’ve only been doing one league. “The Pairs was the first time I’d ridden in two weeks, and it is difficult to come back in against guys who are riding much more regularly. “The fact we are getting back into the swing of it now is good, especially for me because I’m getting busier again. “I’m riding pretty well, and I’ve got to the bottom of a couple of little issues so I’m looking to keep doing well. “It’s been difficult with a lack of track time, but like I say we are getting busier again now and we’re looking forward to getting back at Owlerton on Thursday. “We’ve been riding well as a team, so we just need to try and pick up where we left off and come away with another positive result. “If the team get the right result then I’ve done my job so that’s always the main focus for me, and we’ll be looking to keep our good home run going with another three points against Plymouth.” Sheffield are set to go into tomorrow’s meeting without the services of Jason Garrity again as he is still struggling with an arm injury.
