The jury has now gone out to consider the fate of a man accused of murdering a former soldier from Chesterfield.

Connor Rose, 25, is accused of the murder of Joseph Robothom, following an altercation outside Vibe Bar, in Holywell Street, in the town, in the early hours of Saturday, February 8 last year.

Rose smashed a bottle into the face of Mr Robotham, of Sheffield Road, Old Whittington, after the 25-year-old got into a fight with a friend of Rose’, identified in court as Adrian Strafford.
